PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Previously, Omar worked in the Criminal Litigation and Sanctioning area at the Grasty, Quintana, Majlis law firm. At the same time, he has worked as a consultant in Criminal, Civil, and Bankruptcy matters for companies and law firms. Additionally, he served as a public criminal defender from 2017 to 2022, gaining extensive experience in Guarantee Courts, Oral Trial Courts, Courts of Appeals, and the Supreme Court, handling various cases, some of which were of public significance.  He also has experience in proceedings before the Constitutional Court.

His practice focuses primarily on complex and economic criminal and sanction litigation.

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

Omar has served as Assistant Professor of Criminal Procedural Law (2015), Administrative Criminal Law (2016), Economic Criminal Law (2017), and Assistant Professor of Corruption Crimes (2020), at the Faculty of Law of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Omar holds a Master’s Degree in Criminal Law from Universidad Pompeu Fabra in Spain, in conjunction with the Universidad de Barcelona (2022).
